If you are thinking about replacement windows for your home or business, you may end up feeling overwhelmed by the number of choices and styles available. Here at EcoView of the Piedmont, we spend a lot of time thinking about and installing replacement windows, so we wanted to share three of our favorite options with you.

What Replacement Windows Should You Choose – Double Hung, Slider or Casement?

  • Double-Hung Windows: When you think of traditional or classic windows, these are probably the ones you envision in your mind. They have 2 sashes (one on top and one on bottom) that can be opened for ventilation. Ours feature sashes that can be removed if needed, as well as tilted for easy cleaning. They are available with a variety of millwork, style, grid and color options.
  • Slider Windows: For a more modern look, you might consider slider (or double slider) windows. These windows are also great for ventilation and natural light and generally have two sashes next to each other, with the ability to slide one or both sashes toward the center of the window. These are often easier to move than casement style windows.
  • Casement Windows: If you want to showcase fabulous views from your home or business, or if you want increased security from your windows, casement windows might be your best choice. With multiple locking points and excellent performance and energy-efficiency ratings, casement windows are often opened and closed with a crank or other type of handle.
